In two separate trials, Wesley Nicholas, Jr., was convicted of abduction, malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in the commission of a malicious wounding. Nicholas appeals on issues arising from both proceedings. He contends that the trial judge erred in (1) denying the motion he made during the first trial to exclude evidence of "other crimes," and (2) finding the evidence sufficient to sustain the convictions in the second trial.
