Andrew Lott entered pleas of no contest to three charges of assault in the second degree. Superior Court Judge Richard D. Savell sentenced Lott to a total of ten years with one year suspended. Lott thereafter filed a motion to withdraw his no contest pleas, contending that his trial counsel had provided him with ineffective representation.
