Justice TULLY delivered the opinion of the court:

After a jury trial, defendant Joseph Rogers was convicted of attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery, and armed violence. (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, pars. 8-4; 12-4; 33A-2.) Defendant was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment for attempted first degree murder. Defendant appeals the judgment of conviction. We affirm.
