Defendant Johnny Ray Presley was charged by amended information in the circuit court of Adams County with four counts of first degree murder (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1989, ch. 38, pars. 9-1(a)(1), (a)(2), (a)(3)) and one count of attempt (robbery) (Ill.Rev. Stat.1989, ch. 38, pars. 18-1(a), 8-4(a)). After a jury trial, he was convicted on three counts of first degree murder and acquitted of attempt (robbery). He was sentenced...
