REAVLEY, Circuit Judge:

Eric Dedmon died of carbon-monoxide asphyxiation in 1986 while sleeping in the bedroom of his mother's home. Linda Dedmon (Dedmon), Eric's mother, filed this negligence and product-liability wrongful death suit in 1988 against Stewart-Warner Corporation (Stewart-Warner). Stewart-Warner was the manufacturer of the furnace installed in 1971 in the Dedmon home, and the complaint is that faulty performance of the furnace caused Eric Dedmon's death...
