Defendant, Elijah Lyons, was charged by bill of information with manslaughter, a violation of Louisiana Revised Statute 14:31. Defendant requested and was granted appointment of a sanity commission. Following a lunacy hearing on April 4, 1988, defendant was found sane and able to stand trial.
