Defendant, Dwayne Crossley, and codefendant, Pamela Edison, were charged by indictment with one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 56½, par. 1401(a)(2)) and with one count of possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver (Ill.
