Plaintiffs filed this suit against John E. Graham & Sons ("Graham"), Offshore Trawlers, Inc. ("Offshore Trawlers"), Offshore Marine, Inc. ("Offshore Marine") and Atlantic-Richfield Company ("ARCO") in state court to recover damages arising from personal injuries that allegedly occurred when plaintiff was being transferred from a fixed platform owned and operated by ARCO to a vessel.
