Defendant Erskine J. Wright was charged by bill of information with the forcible rape of a thirteen year old female, a violation of La.R.S. 14:42.1. After a trial the jury found defendant guilty as charged. On July 5, 1990, the trial court heard defendant's motion for new trial, which included the recanted testimony of the victim as well as new testimony from the victim's mother and another person.
