Following a jury trial in the circuit court of St. Clair County, defendant David Parker was convicted of murder, armed violence, attempted murder and aggravated battery. (Ill.Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 38, pars. 9-1(a)(1), 33A-2, 8-4(a), 12-4(a).) Defendant was sentenced to a 30-year term of imprisonment for murder, to be served concurrently with terms of imprisonment of 10 years for armed violence, 15 years for attempted...
