BURNS, Chief Judge.

Defendant Blair F. Burton (Burton), in his individual capacity, appeals the circuit court's April 17, 1991 order requiring him to pay $3,600 to a co-party as a sanction for Burton's violation of Hawaii Rules of Civil Procedure (HRCP) Rule 11. We affirm.
