This case arises from the refusal of Chrysler Credit Corporation (CCC) to honor five checks made payable to Burdette Motors, Inc. (Burdette) and deposited in Burdette's checking account at First Federal Savings and Loan Association of South Carolina (First Federal). First Federal, which gave immediate credit for the checks that were drawn and exhausted immediately, sued CCC in state court for the amount of the checks plus...
