Defendant, Willie Wright, was charged with both possession of an illegal firearm, in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:1785, and illegal possession of stolen things, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:69. He was convicted as charged by a jury of the firearm offense, but found guilty only of attempted possession of stolen things valued greater than $100. After receiving a sentence of one year at hard labor for each conviction, to be served concurrently, and a total...
