Defendant-Appellant Eric Schroeder (Defendant) was indicted on October 25, 1985, for the offenses of Robbery in the First Degree (Count I), Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) § 708-840(1)(b)(ii) (1985 & Supp. 1991), and Kidnapping (Count II).
