On March 1, 1982, plaintiff, Lois Thacker, individually and as administrator of the estate of her deceased husband, brought suit in the circuit court of McLean County against Manville Corporation, Manville International Corporation, and others. Plaintiff sought damages for injuries to her decedent and for his death from cancer which she claimed he contracted while working at the Bloomington plant of Union Asbestos...
