George Raymond Murphy was killed when the horse he was riding bolted into the path of an 18-wheeler driven by Prezell Phillips, an employee of K.D. Auger Trucking, Inc. Murphy's widow, Shelby Sue Murphy, brought suit individually and as natural tutrix for the couple's two minor children against Auger and its insurer, Laramie Insurance Co.
