We granted certiorari in this case to review the trial court's denial of Dr. Isadore Brickman's attempt to stay a Georgia judgment rendered against him.

On or about March 22, 1991 Screven County Hospital Authority (Screven) obtained a default judgment against Brickman in a Georgia District Court. Brickman is a Louisiana resident. In order to obtain service of the Georgia pleadings on Brickman, Screven had Keith Casey, president of AAA Detective...
