On October 11, 1990 the defendant was charged by bill of information with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. He was arraigned on October 19, 1990 and pled not guilty. On March 6, 1991, a twelve member jury found the defendant guilty as charged. On March 15, 1991, the trial court sentenced him to twelve years at hard labor without benefit of parole.
