The principal issue in this appeal is whether the Family Support Magistrate's Act, General Statutes §§ 46b-231 through 46b-235, unconstitutionally infringes the powers of the judiciary insofar as the act gives family support magistrates the power to incarcerate persons found to be in contempt of orders for child and spousal support.
