The petitioner, Lester Cokley, appeals the denial of his petition for post-conviction relief. We affirm.

The record shows that in 1987 the petitioner was charged with robbery, aggravated battery, and resisting a peace officer (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, pars. 18-1, 12-4, and 31-1).
