Defendant, Carmen Williams, was charged by bill of information with simple robbery, a violation of Louisiana Revised Statute 14:65.

At her arraignment defendant pled not guilty. Defendant was tried by jury on September 5, 1990 and was found guilty as charged. The trial judge sentenced defendant to seven (7) years at hard labor.
