Defendant, Patrick Strebin, pleaded guilty in July 1989 to aggravated battery of a child (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 12-4.3) in return for the dismissal of a second charge pending against him, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and the State's agreement that defendant would receive a sentence of probation. At the sentencing hearing in February 1990, defendant was sentenced to 48 months' probation, subject to...
