Donna Dragon, the appellant, claims that the Rhode Island Department of Mental Health Retardation and Hospitals (MHRH) unlawfully discriminated against her on the basis of sex when it 1) failed to promote her and 2) failed to raise her pay. See Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(a). After hearing all the evidence, the district court granted MHRH's motion for a directed verdict on Ms. Dragon's Title VII claims...
