In the early morning of May 5, 1989, defendant, allegedly driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, struck and killed a woman riding a bicycle. A jury found defendant guilty of murder in the second degree in violation of Penal Law § 125.25 (2) and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting in violation of Vehicle and Traffic Law § 600 (2) (a). Defendant was sentenced to an indeterminate term of imprisonment of 25 years...
