Nottingham Partners and Deerfield Partners, plaintiffs below, invoking federal question jurisdiction, 28 U.S.C. § 1331, brought suit for securities law violations allegedly committed by Trans-Lux Corporation and its directors. After a parade of intervening events, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts ruled that the defendants were entitled to summary judgment because the plaintiffs' claims were extinguished...
