HOLLAND, Justice:

The defendant-appellant, Dennis W. Lance ("Lance"), was indicted on May 10, 1989 for Murder in the Second Degree. 11 Del. C. § 635. Lance was charged with the beating death of Michael Priebe, age twenty-eight months, which occurred March 31, 1989. Following a jury trial in the Superior Court, Lance was convicted, as charged, on March 13, 1990. He was sentenced on June 7, 1990.1 Lance filed this direct appeal...
