In June 1988 Peter Alessandri obtained a state court judgment in Florida against April Industries ("April") for about $135,000. April appealed. In the meantime, on October 29, 1988, April's wholly-owned subsidiary, Futura Development ("Futura"), obtained a federal court consent judgment in Puerto Rico against Alessandri for about $15,000. In the consent judgment the parties agreed about how Alessandri and April would pay their apparently offsetting...
