Glenn Clifford Boyer (hereafter referred to as defendant) was charged with and found guilty of two counts of sodomy, a class B felony. §§ 566.060.3 and 558.011.1(2).1 He was charged and sentenced as a prior offender, § 558.016.2 and § 558.019.2(1), RSMo Supp.1988, and as a persistent sexual offender, § 558.018.
