Michale J. Anderson was tried by jury and was found guilty of first degree murder and theft in connection with the strangulation and stabbing death of seventeen year old Karen Hurwitz and the taking of an automobile belonging to her father. Post-trial motions were denied, and Anderson was sentenced to serve a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment for first degree murder, as well as a consecutive term of imprisonment for not less than three and one...
