Pursuant to a jury trial, defendant Marvin Gleash was found guilty of murder and subsequently sentenced to 40 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. He appeals both his conviction and his sentence, raising as issues: (1) whether his trial counsel was burdened by a conflict of interest and thus did not provide effective assistance of counsel; (2) whether he was denied a fair trial by the circuit court's refusal...
