Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant Marcus Buchanan was convicted of the murder of Daniel Cooper and sentenced to 40 years imprisonment. Defendant now appeals, contending that: (1) prosecutorial misconduct during closing and rebuttal arguments denied him a fair trial; (2) the State failed to prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt; (3) he was denied effective assistance of counsel...
