The defendant, Peter James Pirrello, Jr., appeals the judgment of the circuit court of Winnebago County sentencing him to the Department of Corrections for an extended term of 25 years upon his plea of guilty to the offense of voluntary manslaughter. (Ill.Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 38, par. 9-2(a)(1).) He claims the court abused its discretion in imposing the 25-year extended-term sentence given the evidence of the circumstances...
