Merlin J. Martin and Sterling J. Martin were indicted for four counts of obstruction of justice, violations of La.R.S. 14:130.1. They pled not guilty and, after trial by jury, were convicted as charged on counts 1, 3 and 4. The jury found them guilty of attempted obstruction of justice on count 2. The trial court sentenced Merlin Martin, on count 1, to serve a term of four years imprisonment at hard labor and to pay a $3000 fine; on count 2, to serve...
