Plaintiff is the owner of an historic structure, the Luling Mansion, located near the Fair Grounds racetrack, which is owned and operated by defendant, the Fair Grounds Corporation. The trial court awarded plaintiff $4,000 for damage to the ambiance of his historic building caused by lights used to illuminate the racetrack for evening races.
