Defendant, Calvin C. Pierce, was found guilty of five counts of first degree murder. A jury found defendant guilty of two counts of felony murder predicated upon the commission of an aggravated battery, one of which involved causing harm to a person over the age of 60 years (Ill.Rev. Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 9-1(a)(3)), and three counts of first degree murder creating a strong probability of death or great bodily...
