The defendant, William Hernandez, along with co-defendant, Antonio Silva, was charged by indictment with murder, attempted murder, armed violence, and aggravated battery. Silva entered pleas of guilty to murder and attempted murder for which he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. He is not a party to this appeal. Following a jury trial, Hernandez was convicted of all charges and was sentenced to 40...
