Defendant, Edmond Williams, was arrested on November 13, 1987, and charged by indictment with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated criminal sexual assault and attempted murder. Following a jury trial, defendant was found guilty of attempted murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 38, par. 8-4) and aggravated kidnapping (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 10-2(a)(3)) and acquitted of the aggravated criminal sexual assault...
