Upon the complaint of a real estate broker who had been associated with his real estate firm, Lester E. Savage was complained of, tried, and convicted of violating G.L.c. 149, § 148, a statute whose general purpose is to assure that employees are paid their wages on a weekly basis. We think the statute was misapplied and that the defendant Savage was entitled to a required finding of not guilty, for which he had timely moved.
