The evidence at trial tended to show that the victim, Rico Wallace, was visiting at the Smith home when the defendant came to the door and knocked. At the time, the house contained several adults and young children. Upon admittance to the house, the defendant went directly to a bedroom where he had earlier left his gun for safe-keeping.
