After a jury trial, the defendant, Jeffrey Zator, was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol (Ill.Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 95 ½, par. 11-501) and reckless homicide (Ill.Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 38, par. 9-3(a)) for the death of Thomas Dunn, a pedestrian.
