In 1983, Collectors' Guild International, Inc. (CGI) contracted with Morris Industrial Builders, Inc. (Morris), as general contractor, to construct a commercial building (premises), located at 1625 Bathgate Avenue, Bronx, New York. Thereafter, on or about April 7, 1986, a large quantity of water leaked through the roof of those premises, and caused substantial damage to an inventory of lithographic art work, owned and used by CGI in its mail order business.
