Justice JOHNSON delivered the opinion of the court:

Defendant was charged by information with delivery of a controlled substance. (Ill.Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 56½, par. 1401(c).) Following a jury trial, defendant was found guilty and sentenced to a term of 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Defendant now brings this appeal.
