A jury found Brian Clarke guilty of attempted murder and willful injury. See Iowa Code § 707.11 (1989) (defining attempted murder) and § 708.4 (1989) (defining willful injury).1 On appeal from the judgment and sentences entered on the jury's verdict, Clarke asserts two errors.
