Following a bench trial, defendant Gordon Trowers was found guilty of possession of controlled substance, armed violence and bribery. The trial court merged the conviction for possession of controlled substance into the armed violence conviction and sentenced defendant to serve a concurrent sentence of six years imprisonment on the armed violence count and three years on the bribery count.
