This is an appeal by Charles Kauffman from convictions for first degree murder and receiving stolen property. The murder charge was in connection with the strangulation death of eleven year old Timmy Freed. After the jury rendered its guilty verdicts, a sentencing hearing was held on the first degree murder conviction, on May 20, 1989.
