Defendant, Carl Guidry, was charged by information with two counts of first-degree murder. (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, pars. 9-1(a)(1), (a)(2).) Following a bench trial defendant was convicted initially of first-degree murder. However, after hearing arguments on post-trial motions, the trial court vacated its finding of guilty of first-degree murder, entered a finding of guilty of second-degree murder ...
