The State of Maryland, in a 90 count indictment, charged John Lavon Burgess, appellant, with numerous violations of the criminal laws including Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to Maim, Assault with Intent to Disable, Assault and Battery, and Malicious Destruction of Property.
