On November 20, 1985, the appellant, Dennis Blake Singleton, was convicted in the Circuit Court of Campbell County of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of cocaine. He was sentenced to serve a total of eighteen years in the state penitentiary with eight years of that sentence suspended.
