The plaintiffs, Patricia Dixon and Louise Thompson, co-administratrixes of the estate of Anita Thompson, appeal from a judgment against them entered after a jury returned a verdict for the defendant, Kim A. Hardey, M.D., in an action alleging medical malpractice. We reverse.

On July 6, 1987, Anita Thompson entered Southeast Alabama Medical Center ("Hospital") for the treatment of uterine fibroid tumors...
