Defendant, Ricardo Cuadros Mendoza, was charged by indictment with two counts of murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, pars. 9-1(a)(1), (a)(2)), in connection with the killing of Tranquilino Salinas. Prior to trial the defendant moved to quash his arrest and suppress his inculpatory statements to police. Following a hearing, the defendant's motion was denied, and the case proceeded to trial.
